Abstract

A plurality of individual parts (1.1 - 1.6) are so shaped that, in the assembled state, they fit together in the manner of a jigsaw so that they can only be pulled apart in one direction at right angles to the plane of the mattress but remain together in opposition to forces in the plane of the mattress. The mattress is particularly strong if, during assembly of the individual parts, frictional forces have to be overcome between the limits of the individual parts. In this case, the assembled mattress does not fall apart if, for example, it is lifted. The mattress is particularly useful when the individual parts (1.1 - 1.6) possess a shape of familiar objects, such as for example an animal shape. Children can then also play with the individual parts.
