Abstract

A rotatable cam 12 has ramps 20 for operating push-button switches (not shown) and notches such as 14, 15, 16, co-operating with a spring- pressed cam-follower 18, and is connected by a removable and reversible member 5 (Fig. 3, not shown), with the control axle 2 of the switch for limited rotary movement by an operating handle 1. A bearing 3 on the axle 2 carries a stud 4 engaging apertures 8, 9, 10 or 11 in member 5 to limit the movement of the cam 12, which cam has ten notches (Fig. 4, not shown) in its rear surface selectively engageable by a lug 7 of member 5 to set the relative positions of the cam 12 and member 5. 48 different switchactuating programmes are obtained by different relative settings of the handle 1, member 5 and cam 12. As shown, Fig. 2, the switch has three stable positions. If cam-follower 18 normally engaged recess 15 there would be two stable positions and one retractive position. When follower 18 engages depressions 114, 115, 116, the operations are retractive. The push-button switches are arranged to be actuated either individually or successively or simultaneously as desired.
