Abstract

Apparatus for generating combustion products under pressure, particularly for heating a boiler, comprises a cylindrical combustion chamber 24, Fig. 2, closed at one end by a dished wall and having a restricted outlet 16 at the other end extending for about 40% of the length of the chamber. Burner nozzles 13 are mounted in flared ports 21 so arranged that the spray patterns from the nozzles intersect. Air from a jacket 12 is induced through ports 21 and inlets 27, 28 to cool the chamber walls.
