Abstract

It has a supporting axle (11) on which there is present a stretcher covering (12) whose cylindrical outer circumference has projections which are separated from one another by cuts (15) which are arranged transversely to the supporting axle (11) and are inclined from the centre of the roller to the roller ends. To make the stretcher roller (10) simpler in construction and to reduce its wear and tear effect on the web material, the stretcher covering (12), which consists of an elastomeric material, has undercut ring lamellae (20).
