Abstract

Módulo de soporte de combustible para almacenar conjuntos de combustible nuclear en una piscina de almacenamiento, que incluye una placa de base (14) de un tamaño suficiente para soportar una pluralidad de conjuntos de combustible y que tiene unos orificios (30) de circulación de refrigerante uniformemente separados en ella, y una pluralidad de alveolos (16) montados de manera vertical en dicha placa de base (14), teniendo cada uno de dichos alveolos (16) una sección transversal cuadrada y estando dotado de paredes que rodean uno de los orificios (3o) formados en la placa de base (14) con el fin de facilitar la circulación ascendente del refrigerante a través de dicho alveolo (16) caracterizado porque las esquinas de los alveolos adyacentes (16) están conectadas las unas con las otras a lo largo de su longitud para constituir un módulo tal que las paredes de cada alveolo, salvo la pared externa de la hilera periférica de alveolos del módulo, sean comunes con los alveolos adyacentes (16) delmódulo, y en que el material de absorción de neutrones (36) está montado en las paredes comunes de dichos alveolos (16), y porque cada alveolo (30) de sección transversal cuadrada incluye dos elementos en forma de L (34) cuyos bordes longitudinales están soldados conjuntamente, y dicho material de absorción de neutrones (36) esta montado en cada pared de cada segmento en forma de L (34) salvo aquellas paredes de cada alveolo situado en la periferia del módulo.
