A wrap carrier for transporting a plurality of beverage containers, said carrier including a bottom panel, a pair of side panels, a plurality of end panels and a pair of top lap panels, which panels form a package enclosing said plurality of beverage containers; said upper panels including an outer top panel and an interior top panel, the interior and exterior top panels being substantially coextensive, said top exterior panel covering said interior top panel and being adhesively bonded thereto; said outer top panel including a pair of elongate outer handle openings therein, each of said outer handle openings having a tongue hinged to an inner longitudinal edge of the outer handle opening, said tabs being intended to be folded inward when fingers are inserted into the outer handle openings to lift the carrier; and said inner top panel including a pair of elongate inner handle openings that are aligned with the outer handle openings and are substantially the same size as these, each of said inner handle openings having a tongue hinged to a longitudinal edge interior of the inner handle opening, one of said inner tabs being folded backward on the inner top panel and adhesively attached thereto, whereby the inner handle flap folded backward and the portions of the outer and inner top panels between the handle openings provide a three layer sheet between the handle openings, and the other one of said inner handle tabs intended to be folded inwardly when the fingers are inserted into the interior handle openings for lifting the carrier, including interior top panel a hinged partition formed therein, comprising a main portion the partition wall joined to the interior top panel by a pair of strips extending adjacent the interior handle openings and parallel to the longitudinal axes of the interior handle openings, said strips being hinged to the interior top panel throughout of folding lines extending parallel to the transverse geometrical axes of the handle openings and substantially coextensive therewith, the improvement consisting in that said inner upper panel includes a reinforcing section of the handle, adhesively joined to said outer upper panel said reinforcing section of the handle extending over the entire width of the inner handle openings and being defined by a die cut that defines the upper edge of the main portion of.
