Abstract

Fabric take down mechanism for a flat bed machine has in addition to the usual draw-off rollers 6, 7 a pair of take-down rollers supported on shafts 9a, 10 positioned just below the knitting region. The shafts are gear driven, the shaft 9a being rigidly fixed to the machine frame but the shaft 10 is supported by springs 11 which urge the roller on shaft 10 into contact with that on shaft 9a. The roller on shaft 10 is made up of sections of a resiliently yieldable material such as foamed rubber. The roller on shaft 9a is made up of metal sections secured on the shaft.
