Abstract
The invention comprises compounds of formula <FORM:1025049/C2/1> wherein R1 is H, halogen, alkyl, alkenyl, alkoxy, dialkylamino, dialkenylamino, alkylmercapto, alkenylmercapto or nitro, n is 1-5, A is C1- 10 alkylene and R2 is Cl, alkoxy, cycloalkoxy, alkylmercapto or a heterocyclic radical, These compounds are made from the parent phenol by reaction with (a) R2-A-NCO or (b) COCl2 to give the corresponding chloroformate or carbonate, which is then reacted with R2-A-NH2.ALSO:A method of combating fungi comprises treating plants or soil with a compound of formula <FORM:1025049/A5-A6/1> wherein R1 is H1 halogen, alkyl, alkenyl, alkoxy, dialkylamino, dialkenylamino, alkylmercapto, alkenylmercapto or nitro, n is 1-5, A is C1-10 alkylene and R2 is Cl, alkoxy, cycloalkoxy, alkylmercapto or a heterocyclic radical alone, or in admixture with a solid or liquid diluent or carrier and optionally with the addition of an organic mercury compound and/or an antibiotic. Emulsifiers and dispersing agents may also be used and the fungicidal compositions are utilized in the usual forms such as emulsifiable concentrates, spray powders, pastes, soluble powders, dusts and granulates.
