Abstract
Stabilization process for liquid sulfur trioxide, characterized in that a stabilizer is incorporated therein which contains (1) at least 0.02% by weight on the sulfur trioxide to be stabilized, of a substituted siloxane polymer that does not contain more substituents than methyl or methoxy; and (2) at least 0.1% by weight on the sulfur trioxide to be stabilized from dimethyl sulfate, the weight ratio of dimethyl sulfate to siloxane polymer being at least 3 to 1.
