Abstract

Junta de goma protegida, constituida por un aro o anillo de goma de sección y forma conveniente, que presenta una porción de su superficie exterior recubierta por una lámina o arandela acanalada de plomo u otro material dúctil apropiado, quedando esta arandela unida o incrustada al anillo de caucho para constituir una sola unidad, que se coloca en las uniones en sustitución de los anillos usuales de caucho solo, y de modo que la lámina de plomo quede comprimida entre las superficies que han de establecer la junta, evitando que el caucho pueda llegar a ponerse en contacto con los fluidos u otras sustancias retenidas por la junta.
