Abstract

A dispensing container comprises a valved outer container 1 and a thin metal inner container 5 having a flexible cylindrical wall. The inner container is deformed by gas under pressure between the shape illustrated and a shape in which it contacts the surfaces of a symmetrical three armed supporting member to dispense material through the valve 4. In an alternative embodiment, Fig. 6 (not shown), the inner container (5) is deformed about three longitudinal ribs (9a, 9b, 9c) formed on or secured to the inner container. The material to be dispensed may be introduced into the inner container 5 or between the inner and outer containers. The gas under pressure, e.g. dichlorodifluoromethane, which may be in liquefied form, is introduced into the space between the containers or into the inner container. The inner container may be secured to the outer container by the base 3 or separate base member may be provided. The upper portion 7 of the inner container may be rigid or be flexible and provided with annular corrugations.
