Abstract

A test kit for blood grouping comprises a card having a plurality of test areas thereon and an instrument for transferring a blood to, and storing the drop on, each of said areas simultaneously, said instrument comprising a body portion 8 and prongs 9, the ends 10 of which are arranged in the same pattern as at least some of the test areas. As shown in Fig. 2, to which the numerals refer, the instrument is planar, the prongs are bent at 11, and the ends thereof lie in the same plane so that stirring can be effected by moving the instrument in a plane parallel to and spaced from the card. The test areas may contain a test serum (e.g. anti-A, anti-B, anti- D and an unspecific serum) together with conglutinin or conglutinin substitute (e.g. dextran) and salt.
