Abstract
Apparatus for transporting bands in superposition, for welding or sewing along a line of certain shape, apparatus comprising fastening means activatable in the sense of fastening the bands in superposition, and operable or movable in the transport of overlapping bands by passing them through a sewing device; mounting means on which the fastening means are mounted, and which can be rotated so that the fastening means can be activated in the direction of transporting the bands, passing them through the sewing device, along a path that has a determined radius and corresponding to one of the arched parts of the seam line; carrier or carriage means that rotatably carry the mounting means, and capable of oscillating so that the fastening means can be driven in the direction of transporting the bands by passing them through the sewing device along a trajectory that has another determined radius, different from the previous one and corresponding to another arched part of the seam line; common actuating means for selectively oscillating the carriage means and/or rotating the mounting means relative to the carriage means, thereby actuating the securing means; and control means for automatically making said selection, according to the determined shape of the seam line.
