Abstract
A polyamide composition of improved transparency contains 0À1 to 0À5% of a poly-N-vinyllactam having a molecular weight of approximately 1,000,000, e.g. polymers or copolymers of poly-N-vinylpyrrolidone, poly-N-vinylpiperidone or poly-N-vinylcaprolactam. The poly-N- vinyllactam may be added before, during or after the preparation of the polyamide. Examples disclose compositions of poly-N-vinylpyrrolidone and (1) and (2) poly-epsilon-caprolactam, (3) a copolymer of epsilon-caprolactam and 11-aminoundecanoic acid. Reference is also made to polyhexamethylene adipamide compositions. Uses.-Injection mouldings.
