Abstract

A method and a steam generating device for the production of steam in a steam generator having first, second and third heating surfaces, whose method is characterized in that it comprises, in combination, the operations of (a) establishing a primary flow in series through said first and second heating surfaces; (b) recirculating a portion of said primary flow through the first heating surface from an intermediate position between said first and second heating surfaces to a position immediately upstream of the first heating surface; (c) burning fuel in radiant heat exchange with the flow in said first heating surface and establishing a flow of the hot combustión gases; (d) passing the hot combustión gases in a heat exchange relationship with the primary flow passing through said second heating surface; and (e) establishing a reheat flow and passing said reheat flow through said third heating surface in a heat exchange relationship with the combustión gases; said method being characterized by the further operations of (f) passing the recirculation portion of the primary flow in a heat exchange relationship with said reheat flow in a position upstream of the third heating surface with respect to the superheat flow; (g) perceiving the temperature of the superheat flow leaving said third heating surface; and (h) regulating the amount of the recirculation portion of the primary flow in response to the perceived temperature to control the temperature of the superheat flow to a desired value.
