Abstract

In a motor-driven dry shaver having a perforated guard 154 supported at its periphery on the shaver housing and a rotary cutter 156 having blades urged resiliently against the guard, the cutter is provided with a stationary column 171 extending into juxtaposition with, and forming a support for, the central portion of the guard. The column has mounted thereon a sleeve 175 integral with a drive gear 177, a portion of the sleeve having a non-circular section on which the cutter can be removably fitted. The column 171 is mounted on a plate 165 fixed to the shaver housing, the plate supporting gears 181, 185 for transmitting drive from a motor-driven shaft 157 to the cutter.
