Abstract

Compounds used in the treatment of polyester fibres are prepared by reacting 17À5 parts of ethylene oxide with 20 parts of coconut oil, 35 parts of ethylene oxide with 20 parts of coconut oil, 9 parts of ethylene oxide with 20 parts of soya bean oil or 29 parts of ethylene oxide with 20 parts of soya bean oil in the presence of potassium tetraethylene glycolate, 23 parts of propylene oxide with 20 parts of coconut oil, or 20 parts of ethylene oxide with 20 parts of soya bean oil in the presence of potassium propylene or ethylene glycolate, or 14À5 parts of propylene oxide with 20 parts of castor oil or 20 parts of ethylene oxide with 20 parts of castor oil in the presence of potassium hydroxide.
