Abstract

A nozzle structure for use in the filling of a borehole with a slurried or plastic mass has a tubular member 15 on which is mounted an annular element 20 or more than one such element spaced along the member, the or each element being of diameter larger than the borehole in which the apparatus is to be used so that each element will be flexed rearwardly whilst maintaining sealing contact with the borehole as the member is moved in and out of the borehole when mounted on a flexible hose supplying the mass to the member for passage therethrough. The flat ring forming each element is seated in an appropriately positioned groove encircling the member and may be paired with a perforated, flexible annular element 21 of greater diameter than the ring to form therewith a non-return valve that will facilitate entry of the nozzle into the borehole.
