Abstract
In an induction electricity meter of the type having a short circuiting loop 1 fitted around the central limb 6 of the voltage electromagnet 6, 9, the loop is so disposed relative to magnetic circuit of the current electromagnet 7, 8 that none of the current flux from this electromagnet (passing to the limb 6) will pass through the loop. The loop is fitted to the shunt 2 which connects the limbs 6, 9 of the voltage electromagnet in such a way that in the area where current flux is coupled into the shunt and thus into the central limb 6, the loop passes over the shunt on the side further from the rotor of the meter (by parts 111, 112). The loop is adjustable transversely along the shunt. The arrangement ensures that when the loop is adjusted asymmetrically relative to the central limb 6, no undesired no-load drive will result, because no e. m.f. will be induced in the loop 1 by the current flux.
