Abstract

Novel (-) - (m - chloro - [alpha] - methylphenethyl)- sulphamide I (including salts thereof) is obtained by the interaction of sulphamide and (-) - (m - chloro - [alpha] - methylphenethyl) - amine (obtained by resolving the racemate) or by hydrolysing a (-)-N1(m-chloro-[alpha]-methyl-phenethyl) - N11 - acyl - sulphamide (the N11- acetyl compound is prepared by the interaction of acetylaminosulphonyl chloride and (-) - (m chloro-[alpha]-methylphenethyl)-amine). Pharmaceutical preparations showing anticonvulsive and CNS activity contain as active ingredient compound I and salts thereof administration is enterally or parenterally.
