Abstract

A grease composition contains, as an extreme pressure agent, a cadmium halide. The grease is preferably based on mineral oil and contains lithium hydroxystearate, lead naphthenate or calcium oleate-stearate. The cadmium halide is preferably CdCl 2 used in amount 0À5-10% by wt. The grease may also contain sodium hypophosphite and/or borax.
