Abstract
A wire of aluminium, zinc, cadmium or one of their alloys is bonded to a stainless steel substrate by rolling, the stainless steel being substantially unreduced by the rolling. The wire is initially heated to a temperature between 140 and 1200 F. and the strip to between 375 and 500 F. The stainless steel strip can be in the form of a car trim strip with the wire acting as a sacrificial component for preventing corrosion between the strip and car body.
