Abstract

A double glazed frame, particularly for load bearing is formed by assembling around the edges of two separated panes of glass 4, 5 four extruded strips of e.g. p.v.c. plastics each having a U-shaped cross-section with an internal integral rib 10 having a T-shaped hollow cross-section projecting midway and inwardly from the web of the U-shaped crosssection, the hollow T-section containing a dehydrating substance and having along its outer surface a groove 3 forming a longitudinal weakened portion to be torn before assembling the four strips around the glazing sheets which abut the rib 10 at their marginal portions and the strips are thermowelded at the joints of the frame. The lower part of the panel may contain a louvre grating between the sheets.
