Abstract

A coupling for a screened high-pressure duet comprises a screening tube 3 joined to a bore 4 in a cylindrical socket 5 and a pressure duct 2 mounted coaxially in and projecting beyond the end of the screening tube 3 and secured by a clamp 6 disposed in a cylindrical bush 7 and tightened by a screw cap 8. The socket 5 and bush 7 are surrounded by a common sleeve 9 containing a collector chamber 10 sealed by annular seals 11. A hollow bolt 12 projects into the chamber 10 to fasten the sleeve 9 in an axial direction and to serve as a discharge duct 13 for leaking material from the duct. An alarm device actuated by leaking pressure medium may be fitted in or to the discharge duct. The pressure duct 2 may be provided with a coupling as described at each of its ends and in this instance, the discharge ducts joined to the two couplings may be used for feeding and removing respectively a cooling or a heating medium.
