Abstract

Circuit breaker device of the type comprising a movable contact arranged to cooperate with a stationary contact and a drive mechanism for effecting contact separation characterized by comprising a trigger means including a magnetic device composed of a pair of substantially magnetic pole pieces parallel; a fixed magnetic yoke supported at a first end of the pole pieces; a movable magnetic yoke disposed at a second end of the pole pieces opposite said first end; an actuator which is operatively linked at one end to the movable yoke and which extends towards the other end thereof overcoming the fixed yoke; a permanent magnetic flux supplying means located between the fixed and movable yokes to provide an acting magnetic flux in a first magnetic circuit through the pole pieces and the movable yoke and capable of holding the movable yoke in an armed position against the pole pieces ; contrasting means of the actuator and the moving yoke in the direction away from the pole pieces; a means of transferring magnetic flux from the first magnetic circuit to the second magnetic circuit through the pole pieces and the fixed yoke, to effect disengagement of the movable yoke and then to contrast the movable yoke and the actuating element to a firing position, the actuator acting at its other end to effect disengagement of the actuation mechanism, in response to movement of the movable yoke and actuator to the firing position.
