Abstract
The invention comprises N-aryl ureas of general formula in which X 1 and X 2 are trifluoromethoxy, chlorine or hydrogen, at least one of them being trifluoromethoxy R 1 is hydrogen, C 1 -C 4 alkyl or C 2 -C 4 alkenyl and R 2 is C 1 -C 4 alkyl or C 2 -C 4 alkenyl. They may be prepared by reacting an isocyanate of formula with an amine of formula HNR 1 R 2 in the presence of a solvent. Suitable starting isocyanates are, for example, 3-chloro-4-trifluoromethoxyphenyl isocyanate, 3 - trifluoromethoxy phenyl isocyanate, 4 - trifluoromethoxyphenyl isocyanate and 3 - trifluoromethoxy - 4 - chlorophenyl isocyanate. Suitable amines are, for example, methylamine, dimethylamine, methylethylamine, allylamine, butylamine, methylbutylamine and diallylamine.
