Improvements in electrical ignition systems for a fuel burner, characterized in that they comprise the combination of an electrical energy source, electrical charging means coupled to said energy source, an electric igniter suitable to be located adjacent to the burner and coupled to said power source and to said charging means, said igniter having a positive temperature resistance coefficient, an electrically actuated valve, capable of controlling a flow of fuel to the burner and which is electrically coupled with said electric igniter to form an excitation circuit, said valve being closed in the absence of electrical excitation and being open under excitation by means of a voltage having at least one particular value, said excitation circuit having a voltage drop that is directly proportional to the temperature of said igniter and that has a value equal to said particular value when said igniter is above fuel ignition temperatures.
