Abstract

To locate the bulb unit of a vehicle lamp on its reflector, the bulb unit is provided with a collar which has, in addition to the usual centering tabs 7a, 7b fitting into a notch 8 in the reflector collar 3, an aperture 9 into which a projection 11 on the reflector collar 3 fits, the projection 11 extending towards the rear of the lamp. In the case where the bulb and reflector are required to be fitted together in a plurality of alternative angular positions it is arranged that the projection 11 is capable of being arranged in any one of a number of alternative circumferential positions on the reflector collar, Figs. 3, 4 (not shown), a housing being provided in the form of a bridge-piece in which the projection is retained for movement into the alternative positions by means of a lever integral with the projection. In the embodiments described, the bridge-piece is a resilient member having a resilient abutment separating two alternative positions of the projection. After location the reflector and bulb units are locked together by means of a wire spring in the shape of a deformed U, Fig. 5 (not shown), this spring fitting into notches in the reflector collar and surrounding and holding the bulb unit in position.
