Abstract

Procedure for flexibilizing epoxy resins, characterized in that it includes adding to the epoxy resin, as a flexibilizer, approximately 5 to 50% of a reaction product prepared by reacting glycerin with propylene oxide to form an intermediate reaction product and reacting then said intermediate product with approximately 2-3.3 moles of an epihalohydrin per mole of the intermediate reaction product, subsequently carrying out a ring closure by dehydrohalogenation, the molecular weight of the reaction product being in the order of approximately 1,000 to 4,000.
