Abstract
A method of obtaining a steroid ester of the general formula **(See formula)** where R1 is selected from methyl, ethyl, propyl, and isopropyl; R2 is selected from the groups C6-C11 alkylcycloalkyl, C4-C15 alkyloxy and C4-C15 cycloalkyloxy; and R3 is selected from hydrogen, methyl and trifluoromethyl; whose procedure consists, when R2 is an alkyl or cycloalkyl group, in contacting the appropriate 17β-hydroxysteroid with the required carboxylic acid anhydride at about 20-30ºC in the presence of p-toluenesulfonic acid or 4- (N, N- dimethylamino) pyridine in an inert solvent; and when R2 is an alkoxy or cycloalkoxy group, contacting the appropriate 17β-hydroxysteroid with the required alkyl or cycloalkyl chloroformate at 0-30ºC, in the presence of a tertiary amine, in an inert solvent.
