Abstract
Procedure to prepare dihydro-2-aminoisoquinolines, of general formula: **(See formula)** where X and Y are different and represents hydrogen or oxygen; R and R1 are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower hydroxyalkyl, lower aminoalkyl, mono and dialkyl (lower) amino-lower alkyl, carboxy lower alkyl, carboalkoxyalkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, aralkyl, acyl derived from one aliphatic, aromatic, or heterocyclic carboxylic acid moiety; carbamyl, thiocarbamyl, arylcarbamyl, arylthiocarbamyl, guanyl, arylsulfonyl, alkylsulfonyl, haloalkylsulfonyl; or R and R1 taken together with the adjacent nitrogen atom, represent an aralkylidenemino, alkylidenemino, carboxyalkylideneamino, carbalkoxyalkylideneamino, cycloalkylideneamino radical or form a heterocyclic ring of 5-7 atoms; characterized by comprising contacting a compound chosen from 2- (2-haloethyl) -benzoates and alkyl 2- (halomethyl) -phenylacetates with a large excess of hydrazine, in a lower alkanol, for 1-20 hours; and, if desired, the radicals R and R1 are introduced into the obtained 2-aminoisoquinoline, of the formula: (see formula) (Machine-translation by Google Translate, not legally binding)
