Abstract

Sheet sorting apparatus for a copying machine, in which sheets are moved along a horizontal path and are diverted downward towards substantially vertical trays, an improved stacking control apparatus comprising: a set of rollers which is suspended from the inlet of an associated tray and extending substantially vertically along the length of the tray, including a frame member and roller means arranged at the lowest portion of said frame member so as to receive the sheets downwardly directed, and a plurality of wire members rotatably supported on the same axis as said set of rollers, extending from the top of said tray to guide the sheets along a predetermined path in the direction of said means roller and they are hit by the upper portion of the blades so that they clear the path for the next incoming sheet.
