Abstract
Improvements introduced in the object of the main patent no. 377,570 requested on march 16, 1970 for "a procedure for converting a hydrocarbon", in particular the reform of a gasoline fraction, characterized in that they comprise contacting, in an area of reforming that is maintained under reforming conditions, the gasoline fraction, a stream of hydrogen and water or a water producing substance with a catalyst composition comprising a combination of a platinum group component, a tin component and a component of halogen with a porous support material in sufficient amounts to result in a composition containing, on an elemental basis, from about 0.01 to about 2% by weight of the metal of the platinum group, from about 0.01 to about 5% by weight of tin, and from about 0.1 to about 3.5% by weight of halogen, in which process the amount t the water or water producing substance continuously entering the reforming zone from any source corresponds to between about 10 and about 50 parts per million by weight of the gasoline fraction, calculated on the basis of equivalent water.
