Abstract
Procedure for the production of edge-centered cubic textured ferrosilicon sheet containing approximately 2 to 4% silicon, including the steps of heating a molded ferrosilicon sheeting to a very high temperature, hot rolling to an intermediate gauge, cold rolling to a final gauge, decarburizing and annealing, whereby secondary recrystallization is carried out causing the edges-centered cubic orientation grains to consume other grains having a different orientation; characterized in that it comprises the step of initially reducing hot said molded ferrosilicon sheeting by at least 5%, at a temperature lower than the temperature at which excessive growth of the grains occurs, prior to said heating stage at very high temperature.
