Abstract

A method of producing a molded rubber and plastic composite article comprising injection or transfer molding an olefin polymer polymerized in low pressure, thermoplastic, substantially linear and crystalline solution selected from polypropylene, high density polyethylene and ethylene or propylene copolymers one with the other and/or with a secondary amount of at least one other olefin monomer, so that it is contacted, in the molten state, with a prevulcanized rubber composition containing a prevulcanized rubbery olefinic polymer, said prevulcanized rubbery olefinic polymer being present. In an amount of not more than 70% by volume of the composition and selected from ethylene/propylene copolymers containing from 20 to 85% by moles of units derived from ethylene, and ethylene/alpha-olefin/polyene terpolymers containing from 20 to 85% by moles of units derived from ethylene and from 0.1 to 10% by moles of polyene-derived units and said polymerized olefinic polymer in low pressure, substantially linear and crystalline solution having a melt index or a minimum flow rate of not less than 0.25 when measured in accordance with the test conditions specified in the standard astm d 1238-65 t.
