Abstract
Process for preparing non-aqueous compositions of phenolic novolac resins, characterized in that it comprises mixing a phenolic novolac resin, having a phenol: formaldehyde molar ratio of 1: 0.4 to 1: 1; a hardening agent therefor, consisting of hexamethylenetetramine or phenolic resole; and, as an accelerator for the hardening reaction, a primary organ amine of the general formula: R - (NH2) n in which R is an organic residue that does not contain atoms other than C, H, O or N, is free of -COOH groups and has a functionality of n, where n is an integer from 1 to 6.
