Abstract

This invention relates to compositions of matter and methods for their production. The various aspects of this invention relate to new derivatives of some of the known prostaglandins, for example, prostaglandin F1alpha (PGF1alpha), prostaglandin F2alpha, (PGF2alpha), prostaglandin F3alpha (PGF3alpha), dihydro prostaglandin F1alpha (dihydro-PFG1alpha), and its 15beta epimers, and its racemates, and new methods to produce these new prostaglandin-like derivatives. In particular, the new prostaglandin-like derivatives of this invention are carboxylated at the C-15 position.
