Abstract
A valve arrangement for mixing hot and cold water and of the type comprising an elongated housing, which has a mixing chamber connected to an outlet in its middle part and which, at its opposite ends, is provided with inlets for connection to conduits supplying cold water and hot water, respectively, a first control member being provided to determine the total volume of water that is allowed to flow out, and a second control member being provided to dose the partial water currents admitted from each of the two inlets, and therefore, the temperature of the mixed streams leaving the valve, said housing being further provided with means to compensate for changes in the water streams caused by changes in pressure in any of the connected supply lines to the valve housing inlets, characterized by the fact that the dosing of the partial currents inside each of the end parts of the housing, separated by the mixing chamber, is obtained by means of a sleeve, which is rotatable, but cannot move axially with respect to a fixed guide and is provided with axially spaced outlets and inlets, respectively, one of which cooperates with a profiled step of the guide, in that an axially movable reel is mounted inside each sleeve and is provided with two plateaus that define between them a step that goes from the entry of the relevant sleeve to its exit, one of said plateaus determining the inlet flow to the sleeve depending on the occasional axial position of the reel, and why the two sleeves are interconnected to be simultaneously rotated by the second control member, while the two reels are designed to act one above another.
