Abstract

Improvements in apparatus for transferring liquids from one container to another, characterized in that each apparatus is provided with a liquid transfer duct adapted to extend from below the surface of a liquid in said container to the other container; means for raising the pressure on the surface of a liquid within said first container and forcing the fluid to flow from said container through said conduit to the other container, said means used for raising pressure comprising a chamber mounted with displacement relative along said conduit; means for connecting said chamber to a gas source in order to raise the pressure on the surface of a liquid inside said first container; an opening in said chamber through which gas can flow to the surface of a liquid in said first container; said duct passing through said opening, keeping a separation relationship therewith, whereby said gas flowing through said duct eliminates the liquid residue adhering to the outer surface of said duct as said chamber moves relative to said duct ; and a hermetic seal for said first container surrounding the said opening on the outer wall of said chamber.
