Abstract

This invention relates to a paint applicator comprising an open-sided chamber adapted to slidably adhere to a surface, the open side being bridged by such surface. Means are provided for supplying paint to the chamber and the chamber is provided with a trailing panel which acts as a paint spreader when the applicator is moved relative to the surface. The panel may be urged into contact with the surface by either suction or magnetic forces and is particularly suited to painting underwater surfaces such as a ship's hull.
