"PROCEDURE FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF SULFºXIDOS", characterized essentially by starting from a compound that has the following generic formula: ** (See formula) ** wherein R can be selected from a lower alkyl having 1-6 carbon atoms, phenyl, benzyl, substituted phenyl, substituted benzyl in which formula the substituents can be selected from a lower alkyl having 1-4 carbon atoms, thioalkyl, alkoxy, halogen, haloalkyl, nitro compounds and cyanide; R1 and R2 can be the same or different and can be selected from lower alkyl, cycloalkyl, the alkyl radicals having 1-10 carbon, phenyl, benzyl, phenyl and benzyl-substituted atoms in which formulation said substituents can be selected from a lower alkyl having 1 -4 carbon atoms, tiaalkyl, alcohoxyl, halogen, haloalkyl, notrocompounds and cyanide; taken together R1 and R2 can form an alkflic closed chain structure having 2-10 carbon atoms, the closed alkyl chain being optionally substituted with alkyl or haloalkyl having 1-4 carbon atoms or halogen; comprising the steps of: (a) Reacting a thiocarboxy compound having the following generic formula: ** (See formula) ** in which formulation R, R1 and R2 have been defined above, with; (b) performic acid (c) maintaining the temperature of the reaction between 0º C and 60º C.
