A method of preparing a decorative structure comprising: (i) a flexible backing layer which is a flexible fibrous sheet material, bonded by means of (ii) an intermediate adhesive layer, to (iii) a front layer comprising a biaxially oriented, heat-cured and substantially transparent film of ethylene terephthalate having, on the surface adjacent to the intermediate layer, an adherent metal, the process being characterized by gluing, using an adhesive, the backing layer (i) to a surface of the front layer (ii), this surface being the one next to the adherent metal.
