Abstract
Procedure for preparing phenyl-2 indole derivatives, useful as stabilizers of polymers and copolymers of vinyl chloride, and which respond to the general formula: ** (See formula) ** wherein R1 and R2, which are identical or different, each represent a linear or branched alkyl radical and comprise from 1 to 12 carbon atoms, a cyclohexyl radical, a linear or branched alkyloxy radical and comprise from 1 to 12 carbon atoms, a benzyloxy radical, a hydroxy radical, or R1 and R2 together represent an alkylenedioxy radical comprising 1 to 3 carbon atoms, represents hydrogen, a methyl or methoxy radical, it being understood that at least one of the R1 and R2 substituents do not represent an alkyl radical; characterized by reacting an acetophenone derivative that responds to the general formula: ** (See formula) ** in which R1 and R3 take the same values as in formula I, with phenylhydrazine, and the obtained acetophenone phenylhydrazone is cyclized either by means of a dehydrating agent or by thermolysis, to obtain the desired compound of formula I.
