Abstract

Improved drawing yarn feeding apparatus in a knitting machine, comprising a frame, a cylinder of needles rotatably mounted on this frame and provided with a series of vertical grooves circumferentially spaced on the outer periphery, a knitting needle slidably received on each of said needle cylinder grooves for up and down movement therein, a rotating plate mounted on said frame above the needle cylinder, a drawing thread guide cylinder jointly connected to said rotary plate for rotation with it and provided with a series of vertical grooves circumferentially spaced on the outer periphery, at least one cam means mounted on the frame opposite the outer periphery of the wire guide cylinder and including alternate cams at rest and with movement of wire feed at the periphery, at least one guide piece received in each of said vertical grooves of the guide cylinder in engagement with said cam means for movement up and down while rotating the rotary plate, said guide part having a substantially U-shaped configuration and including a vertical main portion provided of a notch in which the said cam means is coupled and a horizontal lower end portion provided with a slot, at least one vertical twisted piece guided through said slot of the lower end portion of the guide piece and provided of a joint threaded bar extending downwards therefrom for its rotation while said guide piece moves up and down and at least one horizontal guide arm secured at one end to the lower end of the threaded bar and provided with a thread guide hole at the other end, through which a drawing thread is guided through one or more selected knitting needles adas, from a yarn supply through said groove of the guide arm to form the desired pattern on a knitting basic fabric.
