Abstract

1.Un procedimiento de preparación de una emulsión estable agua en aceite de polímeros y copolímeros de monómeros etilénicamente insaturados, solubles en agua, cuyo procedimiento consiste en disolver un monómero etilénicamente insaturado soluble en agua, con una solubilidad en agua del 5% en peso como mínimo para preparar soluciones acuosas del mismo, agregar un medio de dispersión líquido orgánico, inerte e hidrófobo, que contiene entre 0,1 y 10% en peso de un agente emulsionante de agua en aceite, para formar una emulsión agua en aceite donde la proporción de fase acuosa oscila entre el 70 y el 95% de la emulsión, polimerizar el monómero en una fase dispersa en dicho medio de dispersión calentando la emulsión bajo condiciones de formación de radicales libres y recuperar el látex polimerizado producido; siendo el medio de dispersión orgánico líquido, inerte e hidrófobo, un hidrocarburo alifático líquido y uno o más agentes emulsionantes de agua en aceite, con lo que se forma una emulsión con una relación de energía cohesiva comprendida entre 1, 0 y 3, 0.
