Abstract
In the preparation of cycloalkanones and cycloalkanols from the corresponding cycloalkyl hydroperoxides under the influence of a solid heterogeneous chromium oxide catalyst, which preparation is known per se, the reaction mixture is treated during the reaction with a stripping gas. The advantage of this procedure is that the catalyst activity and catalyst selectivity are lost less rapidly.
