Abstract
Procedure for the preparation of a 1,2-diphenyl-cyclohex-l-en-4-carboxylic acid derivative of the formula I **(See formula)** in which U, V, W, X, Y and Z stand for, independently of one another, hydrogen, halogen, C1-C4 alkyl, C1-C4 alkoxy, C1-C4 alkylthio, NO2, CF3, COOH, CN, OH, S03H, NH2, -NH (< C1-C4 alkyl) or -N (C1-C4 alkyl) 2, although U and X may each additionally signify an unsubstituted phenyl radical, and represents one of the two groups - OR ° or -SR, where R ° means - hydrogen or - the cation of a base **(See formula)** in which M represents an alkaline, alkaline earth cation of Fe, Cu, Zn, Mn or Ni or an ammonium radical **(See formula)** and takes into account, as an integer 1, 2 or 3, the valence of the cation, while R2, R3 and R4 independently of one another they represent hydrogen, benzyl or a radical (optionally substituted by -OH, -NH2 or C1-C4 alkoxy) of C1-C8 alkyl O well - represent; and R means: - a C1-C18 alkyl radical, unsubstituted or possibly substituted by halogen, by nitro, by cyano, by C1-C8 alkoxy, by C2-C8 alkoxyalkyl, by C3-C6 alkenyloxy, by C1- alkylthio C8, by C2-C8 alkanoyl, by C2-C8 acyloxy, by C2-C8 alkoxycarbonyl or by carbamoyl; bis- (C2-C8-alkyl-amino, tris- (C1-C4-alkyl) -ammonium, C3-C8-cycloalkyl, C3-C8-cycloalkenyl or optionally also by a radical (unsubstituted or uni- or pluri-substituted by in turn by halogen, by C1-C4 alkyl or by C1-C4 alkoxy) phenyl, phenoxy or heterocyclic pentagonal or hexagonal with 1 to 3 heteroatoms; - an unsubstituted C3-C18 alkenyl radical, or substituted one to four times by halogen or once by phenyl or methoxycarbonyl; - a C3-C8 alkynyl radical; - a C3-C12 cycloalkyl radical, optionally substituted by halogen or by C1-C4 alkyl; - a C3-C8 cycloalkenyl radical; - a phenyl radical, unsubstituted or substituted by halogen, by C1-C4 alkyl, by C1-C4 alkoxy, by C1-C4 alkylthio, by NO2, by CF3, by COOH, by CN, by OH, by S03H, by NH2, by -NH (C1-C4 alkyl) or by -N (C1-C4 alkyl) 2 one or more times; - or a pentagonal to hexagonal heterocyclic ring with 1 to 3 heteroatoms, which constitutes the active component, for together with appropriate vehicle materials, the formation of agents to influence the growth of plants, characterized in that in their performance a reaction is verified addition of acrylonitrile or an acrylic acid derivative of formula II **(See formula)** in which G has the same meaning as for formula I, to a diene of formula III **(See formula)** optionally formed as an intermediate compound from a diol of formula IIIa **(See formula)** and consecutive transformation, in the usual way, of the nitrile group introduced by using acrylonitrile in the carboxylic group or the ester group -CO-G according to the definition above.
