Abstract
The bandaging material according to the invention at least partially comprises a water-containing and/or alcohol-containing polyurethane-urea gel and may comprise one or more layers of a carrier material as an intermediate layer and/or a top layer. The present bandaging material is obtained in that a mixture of a prepolymer, prepared from organic polyisocyanate and polyether with at least 40 per cent by weight of ethylene oxide units and containing isocyanate and urethane groups, water and/or alcohol with or without polyamine is converted to a water-containing and/or alcohol-containing polyurethane-urea gel by a polyaddition reaction between said prepolymer and water and/or polyamine as a chain-lengthening agent and by applying this to a carrier material or between carrier materials before the reaction is complete.
