Abstract

Mejoras introducidas en un órgano de inserción ocular para tratar el ojo seco de secreción lacrimal deficiente, comprendiendo dicho órgano de inserción un agente terapéutico confinado dentro de un cuerpo de polímero de tamaño y forma idóneos para ser introducido y retenido en el fondo de la cavidad ocular y que cuando se coloca en el ojo libera el agente terapéutico en forma continua durante un periodo de tiempo prolongado y en una cantidad proporcional controlada, caracterizadas dichas mejoras por el hecho de que el agente terapéutico es una disolución biológicamente compatible, y la cantidad proporcional es suficiente para inducir un flujo acuoso endógeno significativo a la película lagrimal.
