Abstract

Composite foam sheets are made by (a) depositing a layer of gel free latex foam in the uncured state onto a reinforcing layer of cured open celled foam, and (b) heating the latex foam layer to dehydrate it and to cure it to give a cured composite foam sheet. Process allows continuous prodn. of composite foam sheets, e.g. of polyurethane foam base and latex foam covering, without the use of interlaminar adhesives.
